FTA hosted a webinar to discuss strategies for preventing trespass and suicide incidents. FTA provided an overview of the recently published Safety Advisory on reducing rail trespass and suicide events, data trends and resources for transit agencies. The Utah Transit Authority discussed their efforts to prevent unauthorized access to the rail corridor through the use of radar camera surveillance and detection systems. The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority discussed their trespass and suicide prevention strategies, including training, video surveillance, security and community outreach.
