On April 18, 2023, the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) issued an Immediate Action Letter (IAL) to the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) in response to a series of near miss events and deficiencies in MBTA’s implementation of its right of way (ROW) access procedures and practices. This letter formally closes the IAL issued on April 18 2023.
