FTA Safety and Oversight Overview: COVID-19 Oversight, Review Findings, and Safety Updates

FTA’s Office of Program Oversight provided an update on its oversight of COVID-19 supplemental funds and well as key issues and deficiencies identified during the current Triennial and State Management Review cycle and ECHO spot reviews related to the use of COVID-19 supplemental funds. Particular focus will be given to issues related to state transit programs and oversight of subrecipients. FTA’s Drug and Alcohol Program provided updates on DOT Federal testing procedures that impact FTA grantees, including the revised Custody and Control Form (CCF) and Oral Fluids. FTA’s Office of System Safety focused on two recent Requests for Information (RFI) through the Federal Register Notice to solicit industry feedback on the agency’s efforts to improve the safety of the nation’s transit systems–Transit Safety Concerns and Transit Worker Safety RFIs.
