The Fixing America’s Surface Transportation (FAST) Act mandates that FTA publish a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) to establish “rail and bus safety standards, practices, or protocols” for “protecting rail and bus operators from the risk of assault.”

FTA held a National Online Dialogue betweeen June and August, 2016 to provide stakeholders with an opportunity to share comments with FTA on their experiences with transit worker assaults and mitigations they've used to reduce or eliminate assaults. The information FTA receives through the National Online Dialogue will help inform the development of the NPRM. While the dialogue is closed for comments, users can still review the content. 

FTA hosted a webinar to discuss the launch of a National Online Dialogue on Transit Worker Assaults. The webinar served as a brief introduction to the Online Dialogue and provided instructions on how to navigate the forum.
