Overview
FTA’s Cybersecurity Program aims to develop cybersecurity research strategies for transit that align with other cybersecurity research across the U.S. The DOT and other federal agencies address current and future cybersecurity concerns and make transit systems cyber-resilient.
This page will be updated as more information becomes available on the cybersecurity projects, tools or products in the future.
Goal
To develop cybersecurity institutional framework for transit agencies to provide cybersecurity awareness and protections to all levels of the organization; to identify, respond, and function after a cyber attack; to mitigate and report all threats and vulnerabilities.
Objective
The primary objective of the current program is the development of a Research Strategy for Transit Cybersecurity by performing a preliminary research scan and identifying recent transit cybersecurity incidents, governance, guidance, recommended practices, as well as the current state of cybersecurity practice in transit.
