This report includes the results of an analysis aimed at determining the cost-savings resulting from the installation of a "Hybrid-Beltless Alternator" (HBA) system. The HBA system was installed on 41 Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) buses to reduce alternator maintenance cost and activities, belt-related failures, alternator-related road calls, fuel consumption, and greenhouse gas emissions.
