Austin Light Rail Phase 1 Project Profile

The Austin Transit Partnership (ATP) proposes to implement a light rail line connecting Downtown Austin to North, South, and East Austin. Beginning at the intersection of Guadalupe Street and 38th Street to the north, the corridor extends south, traversing Downtown Austin before crossing Lady Bird Lake on a new dedicated light rail bridge. South of the lake, the corridor splits into two branches; one continues further south along South Congress Avenue to Oltorf Street, while the other extends east along East Riverside Drive to a proposed park and ride just west of State Highway 71 near the Austin Bergstrom International Airport.
