05/08/2019. Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO): Solicitation of Project Proposals for the Integrated Mobility Innovation Demonstration program. The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) announces the availability of $15 million of Fiscal Year 2017 and Fiscal Year 2018 research funds for eligible projects. Synopses and full announcement will be posted on Grants.gov as opportunity FTA-2019-008-TRI. Proposals must be submitted electronically through Grants.gov website by 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time 08/06/2019.

Summary:

The Integrated Mobility Innovation Demonstration program’s primary purpose is to fund projects that demonstrate innovative, effective approaches, practices, partnerships, and technologies to enhance public transportation effectiveness, increase efficiency, expand quality, promote safety, and improve the traveler’s experience.  This NOFO integrates three distinct areas of inquiry: Mobility on Demand (MOD) and Sandbox demonstrations; FTA’s Strategic Transit Automation Research (STAR); and Mobility Payment Integration (MPI) to allow applicants to comprehensively plan multiple areas of mobility research. 

Eligible Applicants:

Providers of public transportation, including public transportation agencies, state/local government DOTs, and federally recognized Indian tribes.

All applicants must complete the supplemental form and attach it to their submission in GRANTS.GOV.

Dates:

An applicant must submit a proposal electronically by 11:59 PM Eastern Time on 08/06/2019. Any agency intending to apply should initiate the process of registering on the GRANTS.GOV site immediately to ensure completion of registration before the submission deadline.
