Downtown Riverfront Streetcar Project Profile

The Sacramento Regional Transit District (SacRT) proposes to implement a streetcar line between West Sacramento and Downtown Sacramento. Beginning at the Sutter Health Park to the west, the line extends east across the Sacramento River along the Tower Bridge before connecting to the existing light rail line. Sharing tracks with the existing light rail line, the proposed streetcar extends north traversing Downtown Sacramento and then west to connect to Sacramento Valley Station. The project includes construction of three new stations, improvement of six existing stations shared with the existing light rail, and purchase of four vehicles.
