This document summarizes the report that includes the results of a study that collected information necessary to issue recommendations, voluntary standards, or guidance documents related to emergency lighting and signage for rail transit passenger vehicles. Industry needs identified include signage related to emergency egress near a third rail, signage for emergency personnel that would relay emergency information, and signage that is more internationally recognizable.
