The Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) proposes to extend the Bay Area Rapid Transit District (BART) Silicon Valley (BSV) service 6.5 miles from the Berryessa Station through downtown San Jose to the City of Santa Clara. VTA expects the project will include four stations, five miles of subway tunnels, 48 heavy rail vehicles, and a maintenance facility.
