Introduction Service Data Requirements for Monthly and Weekly Reference Requirements Monthly Ridership Reporting Form (MR-20) Weekly Reference Reporting (WE-20)FTA is releasing on a monthly basis the underlying datasets for its NTD Safety & Security (S&S) Time Series files for S&S events occurring in calendar year 2014 and later. Because the time series excludes Major Security Events collected by the NTD for certain services which fall under the safety oversight of the Federal Railroad Administration, FTA is releasing this underlying dataset for these events as well for any interested data user.

This workbook is designed to support Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPOs), Group Plan Sponsors, and other transit planning agencies involved in Transit Asset Management (TAM). The aggregation component of the tool presents both TAM summary statistics (condition and performance) and aggregated information on asset inventories based on filter selections such as reporter type and TAM tier, as reported to FTA's National Transit Database (NTD).
The Time Series files present NTD data by year, as far back as achievable, to allow for series and trend analyses. There were no changes to the time series in 202 0other than to add the data from Report Year 2020.
Data Tables organize and summarize data from the 2021 National Transit Database in a manner that is more useful for quick reference and summary analysis. Note that these are static versions of the data tables. For tables with built-in features such as binning based on urbanized area size and filtering out questionable data, please search for the individual data table from the NTD Data page (left menu bar).
