Memphis Innovation Corridor Project Profile

The Memphis Area Transit Authority (MATA), proposes to implement an approximately 8-mile bus rapid transit (BRT) line that will connect Downtown Memphis, Memphis Medical District, and the University of Memphis. MATA plans to construct 31 new stops in 17 station locations, purchase nine 40-foot electric vehicles with two-door boarding, and install electric charging equipment. The Project will also include streetscape and pedestrian improvements amenities, such as pedestrian signage, pedestrian count-down signals, high-visibility crosswalks, LED streetlighting, and pedestrian alerts, as well as any related ADA improvements.
