Profile

Welcome to the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Region 3 Office. Region 3 is a collaborative regional office guiding and overseeing federally funded transportation investments. Our mission is to enhance the quality of life in our region through efficient transit program delivery and stewardship. Region 3 services stakeholders in Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia and the District of Columbia from the regional office in Philadelphia and an office in Washington, DC.

The Region 3 team brings value and expertise to the U.S. Department of Transportation and instills these qualities into all its business functions and activities to better support public transit. Our team strives to proactively guide our grantees toward successful grant submissions that result in a timely distribution of federal funds while maintaining appropriate oversight. To this end, Region 3 awarded 148 grants ($1.4 billion) in Fiscal Year 2016 and is currently managing $7.5 billion in federal funding through 552 open grants. The implementation of these projects is the result of a collective effort with our partners to advance relevant transportation investments in the Mid-Atlantic region. Current and historical data for each state can be found at the FTA Data Dashboard.
