Overview

Welcome to The Transit Award Management System (TrAMS) webpage. TrAMS is FTA’s flagship grant management tool, responsible for awarding and managing billions in federal transit funding across thousands of funding awards to state, local and tribal transit agencies.

FTA provides grants to public transit systems, including buses, subways, light rail, commuter rail, trolleys and ferries. Since 1964, FTA has partnered with state, local and tribal governments to create and enhance public transportation systems, investing more than $20 billion annually to support and expand public transit services. FTA provides annual formula grants to transit agencies nationwide as well as discretionary funding allocated through competitive processes.

TrAMS is a web-based tool that allows FTA funding award recipients to apply for federal funds, manage their programs in accordance with federal requirements, and enable FTA to review, approve, control, and oversee how funds are used. For more information on how to access and use TrAMS, please see the TrAMS User Resources and Training section of this website.
