The legalization of marijuana in many states across the United States has created an increase in drug impaired driving impacting the safety of transit drivers and their riders. Recent evidence has shown an increase of fatal accidents due to the use of marijuana. This webinar will discuss training for safety sensitive employees about the effect’s marijuana has on driving, communication, reaction time and more. Furthermore, it will educate them that even if marijuana is legal in their state it is still considered an illegal substance by the federal government. Ms. Sarles will cover transit agencies testing requirements for all legal and illegal drugs that can impair driving and work duties for transit employees.
