Monthly Modal Time Series (Safety and Service)

The Monthly Modal Time Series contains monthly ridership and safety & security (S&S) public transit time series data, delineated by transit/agency/mode/year/month. Includes all Full Reporters--transit agencies operating modes with more than 30 vehicles in maximum service--reporting to the National Transit Database (NTD) and spans from calendar year 2014 to present.

2014 Urban Reduced Reporter Safety Information

Contains urban Reduced Reporter safety data, as defined by NTD reporting thresholds.

For years 2012-2014, Rural Reporter safety data appears in a separate annual database file, "Rural Subrecipient Safety Data". In 2015, both datasets appear together in the file "Safety Information".

2022 TAM Performance Tool


This workbook is designed to support Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPOs), Group Plan Sponsors, and other transit planning agencies involved in Transit Asset Management (TAM). The aggregation component of the tool presents both TAM summary statistics (condition and performance) and aggregated information on asset inventories based on filter selections such as reporter type and TAM tier, as reported to FTA's National Transit Database (NTD).  

Safety & Security Threshold Adjusted Time Series 2002-2007

This data product contains Safety and Security data from 2002-2007, the period when Safety & Security incidents were collected at a summary level. Effective February 2024, FTA will no longer present these data within the Safety & Security Threshold-Adjusted Events Time Series. It is provided for historical reference.
