2021 Time Series
The Time Series files present NTD data by year, as far back as achievable, to allow for series and trend analyses. There were no changes to the time series in 202 0other than to add the data from Report Year 2020.

2021 Data Tables
Data Tables organize and summarize data from the 2021 National Transit Database in a manner that is more useful for quick reference and summary analysis. Note that these are static versions of the data tables. For tables with built-in features such as binning based on urbanized area size and filtering out questionable data, please search for the individual data table from the NTD Data page (left menu bar).
2021 Database Files
Zip file containing all 2021 Annual National Transit Database Files. The Database files contain data from the NTD without manipulation (other than formatting for Excel) and are therefore intended for users comfortable who may intend to perform their own analyses on the data or use the data in their own databases.
2021 NTD Database File Dictionary
Defines terms found on NTD Reporting Forms and identifies the 2021 Database File in which they are included. Please note that this does not include terms in the 2021 Data Tables and Time Series files - each of those files includes its own data dictionary.

2021 Facilities and Stations
Details and summarizes public transportation agency facilities and passenger stations.
2021 Maintenance Facilities
Contains data on maintenance facilities used by each public transportation agency, by mode,and type of service operated.
2021 Metrics
Contains metrics describing service consumption and service cost for each public transportation agency, by mode and type of service.
2021 Operating Expenses
Provides expenses to operate public transportation services for each agency, by mode, and type of service operated. Divides expenses among NTD expense functions and object classes.
2021 Track and Roadway
Provides miles of track and roadway operated on by each public transportation agency, as well as count of special track elements.
Correction 9/14/23: Added 2020s column to Guideway Age Distribution tab. This also resulted in the addition of several records to this tab.
