2023 FTA Joint State Safety Oversight (SSO) and Rail Transit Agency (RTA) Workshop
The 2023 FTA Joint State Safety Oversight (SSO) and Rail Transit Agency (RTA) Workshop brings together SSO staff and RTA safety officers to participate in FTA-led sessions on rail transit system safety, oversight responsibilities, and other FTA safety policy and program updates. With most sessions in-person and select sessions virtual, this workshop will focus on effective working relationships among the SSOs, RTAs, and FTA. FTA is hosting this workshop at the Hyatt Regency St. Louis at The Arch on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, from 8:00 AM–4:30 PM Central Time, Wednesday, November 15, 2023, from 8:00 AM–4:30 PM Central Time and Thursday, November 16, 2023, from 8:00 AM–4:30 PM Central Time.
Representatives from FTA’s headquarters and regional offices, as well as other Federal agencies, will provide program updates and discuss federal requirements to strengthen rail transit safety oversight and other safety priorities.
The Workshop is open to SSO and RTA safety staff, SSO Program Managers and any support and contract staff with an active contract. RTA Chief Safety Officers, Safety Directors, and other program offices, and contract staff with an active contract that collaborate with the safety office are also encouraged to attend.
