2020 Joint State Safety Oversight (SSO) and Rail Transit Agency (RTA) Virtual Workshop
The workshop will focus on effective rail transit system safety, current oversight responsibilities, the Public Transportation Safety Certification Training Program (49 C.F.R. Part 672), and the Public Transportation Agency Safety Plan (49 C.F.R. Part 673). The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) is hosting this 3-day workshop virtually, 11am – 3:00pm EDT daily, Tuesday, October 6 through Thursday, October 8, 2020.
The workshop will also promote the exchange of information between attendees and FTA’s Transit Safety Oversight, Headquarters, and Regional Offices, as well as other Federal agencies, regarding new programs and requirements to strengthen rail transit safety oversight. Contractors supporting the SSO program and rail transit agencies are also invited to attend.
Who Should Attend?
The virtual workshop is open to SSO and RTA staff, SSO Program Managers and any support and contract staff with an active contract. RTA Chief Safety Officers, Safety Directors, and other program offices, and contract staff with an active contract that collaborate with the safety office are also encouraged to attend.
