As a rural transit provider, Heart of Iowa Regional Transit Authority (HIRTA) is committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, by optimizing ridership and diversifying its fleet of vehicles. The HIRTA Climate Action Plan provides a framework for achieving a zero-emission fleet by 2050.
