On March 30, 2022, the Rockford Mass Transit District (RMTD) Board adopted their Climate Action Plan, which establishes GHG reduction targets for fleet, energy, water, and solid waste emissions.  The plan includes over 30 actionable strategies that RMTD will implement to meet its three goals for achieving net zero emissions: (1) Decrease total GHG emissions from transit fleet by 50 percent by 2030, (2) Transition to a zero-emissions fleet by 2036, and (3) Achieve net-zero emissions across all facets of the agency by 2050.
