In June 2021, the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority Board of Directors approved a resolution adopting a sustainability vision and principles that set direction and pillars for sustainability and establishing zero-emission bus goals. Goals include the phased conversion to a 100% zero-emission bus fleet by 2045.
