COTA Fleet Transition Plan

Document

In 2022, COTA released its first sustainability plan, which included the agency’s first Zero-Emission Transition Plan.  Since the release of the initial Fleet Transition Plan, COTA has brought 50 battery electric buses (BEBs) into the fleet, installed the first phases of electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE), and developed plans to expand EVSE at bus garages and on-route. Additionally, COTA has completed a hydrogen fuel cell bus feasibility study and has begun plans to bring hydrogen buses into the fleet. These developments have advanced COTA closer to its 2035 goal and necessitated the update of the Zero-Emission Transition Plan. This updated 2024 Transition Plan aims to capture COTA’s various efforts to transition toward cleaner vehicles and provide a framework for COTA’s continued transition.
