Project Sponsor: City of Baton Rouge

TramLinkBR, a three-mile-long streetcar service, travels along a north‐south corridor between the State Capitol and the Louisiana State University (LSU) campus at the south terminus.

FTA's environmental document reviewers commended the document for the following:

  • use of reader-friendly language and figures to create a well-written public document that helped the reader visualize the proposed project
  • concise document of 40 pages that focused on the important and relevant environmental impacts

Final Environmental Impact Statement for the Federal Way Link Extension

Project Location: King County
Project Sponsor: Sound Transit

Sound Transit will extend its regional light rail system south from the city of SeaTac to Federal Way, Washington. The proposed light rail extension would serve the cities of SeaTac, Des Moines, Kent, and Federal Way in King County.

FTA's environmental document reviewers commended the document for the following:

  • use of reader-friendly language, and appropriate use of graphics, call-out boxes and tables to create a well-received, modern public document
  • inclusion of a fact sheet at the beginning of the executive summary, and an innovative presentation of alternatives
