As identified in the FTA FY 2018 Apportionments, Allocations, Program Information and Guidance published July 16, 2018 in the Federal Registor, FTA is hosting an online dialogue to collect input on the definition of a "federal project" and how that may impact the timely and effective implementation of transit projects. The online dialogue -- a public survey tool that shares ideas and allows people to "like" them -- is part of FTA’s efforts to streamline potentially burdensome and/or duplicative regulations.
In the online dialogue, which will run from Monday, July 16, 2018 through Friday, August 17, 2018, FTA is seeking input from state departments of transportation, transit agencies, transit operators and other stakeholders on how a "federal project" definition affects project delivery and solicits opportunities to improve the process of deciding when a project, project phase, or project element is subject to federal requirements.
We encourage you to participate and comment in the dialogue. Participation is simple: present your own idea; vote on someone else’s idea; or simply leave a comment. The categories included on the website can guide your response, but any feedback is appreciated.
Other FY18 Program Highlights contained within the apportionment notice includes streamlining activities, policy priorities and the FY18 competitive program funding.
