This document summarizes a January 6, 2023 roundtable listening session in San Francisco led by Deputy Administrator Veronica Vanterpool in coordination with local transit leaders and Bay Area Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AA & NHPI) community organizations. The session focused on the experiences of riders of Asian descent on transit systems. It is part of the U.S. Department of Transportation’s work to advance equity and justice in AA & NHPI communities and combat the rise in anti-Asian hate crimes.
